South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association

SACNA is a peer-credentialed association of psychologists in South Africa. Their aim is to promote and stimulate interest in the field of neuropsychology, while maintaining standards in neuropsychological practice. This is achieved by ensuring that its full members have demonstrated knowledge and competence in the field, by way of examination and peer review.

In addition, SACNA's intention is to promote the professional development of clinical neuropsychology in South Africa,

  • through encouraging participation in training and CPD activities,
     
  • through maintaining regular meetings at regional levels attended by psychologists and related professionals,
     
  • through hosting a national bi-annual conference, and
     
  • through liaising and consulting with the HPCSA Professional Board for Psychology, and other bodies pertinent to the practice of neuropsychology in South Africa.

About South African Clinical Neuropsychological Association

There are numerous Clinical Neuropsychological Associations worldwide, both national and international. However, ESP stands out to be one of the most renowned societies both in Europe or worldwide.  Some of the Neuropsychological societies are working on specific topics such as brain-behavior relationships, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and or rehabilitation of patients across the lifespan with neurological, medical, neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions, as well as other cognitive and learning disorders.

In European region there are almost 425 medical societies and associations located in UK, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and Netherlands. Next to USA, Europe has exceptional research facilities and infrastructures. There are almost 52 Pathology societies, 25 Immunology Societies, 32 Nursing Societies, 42 Neurology Societies, 20 Dermatology Societies, 19 Dentistry Associations, 105 Cancer Associations and 34 Ophthalmology societies, 18 Neurology societies along with many other societies and associations,  these societies were established with an aim of improving the scope and communication among the researchers and the scientific world.

Asia is the largest and the most populous continent. There are many medical societies and associations in different countries, which will be almost 575 societies in number approximately. Majority of the societies are located in Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines and Singapore. In Asian countries there are around 98 Cancer Societies, 110 Diabetes Societies, 85 Food and Nutrition Associations and Societies, 42 Cardiology Societies, 21 Nephrology Societies, 20 Immunology Societies, 15 Neurology Societies and many other societies on diverse field are present in Asia- pacific countries which are contributing towards the research world.
